Catfish
Stalker
FLOAT
FISHING
INSTRUCTIONS
&
TIPS
The
"Catfish
Stalker"
Float,
when
used
properly,
can
be
your
best
ally
for
catching
any
species
of
Catfish;
whether
it
be
the
Flathead,
Blue,
or
Channel
Cat.
There
are
several
factors
to
know
to
be
the
most
efficient
with
your
float.
First,
fishing
the
right
type
of
water
where
catfish
are
feeding.
Second,
fishing
the
proper
depth.
Third,
choosing
the
right
float
for
the
job.
Combine
these
three
factors
and
you
will
be
on
your
way
to
catfish
success!
-
Thread
your
main
line
through
the
tube
with
the
stop
knot
on
it,
slip
the
stop
knot
off
of
the
tube
and
remove
the
tube
from
line.
-
Pull
each
"tag"
end
to
secure
the
knot.
Trim
the
ends
of
the
"tag"
at
1/2".
-
Then,
place
a
stop
bead
on
the
line,
the
Catfish
Stalker
Float,
the
proper
weight
of
egg
sinker
(balanced
to
the
size
of
float
allowing
for
the
weight
of
the
bait),
and
another
stop
bead.
-
Next,
tie
a
barrel
swivel
or
a
three-way
swivel
to
the
end
of
the
main
line.
If
you
choose
a
barrel
swivel...make
an
18"
"hook
drop"
and
use
a
snell
knot
to
attach
your
hook.
If
you
use
a
three-way
swivel,
the
first
"hook
drop"
should
be
8"
long
and
the
second
"hook
drop"
should
be
24"
long
(with
a
barrel
swivel
attached
in
the
middle
of
the
drop
line
to
allow
the
lower
bait
to
move).
-
Determine
your
"first"
depth
to
fish
and
set
the
stop
knot
at
that
depth.
-
Set
each
rod
out
different
depths
if
fishing
low
current
areas
or
still
water.
Once
the
depth
of
the
active
fish
is
determined,
set
all
"Stalkers"
to
this
depth.
-
Cast
out
and
stagger
the
distances
between
"Stalkers"
to
determine
which
area
the
fish
are
feeding.
-
If
you
have
had
no
"Action"
after
20
to
30
minutes,
reposition
the
baits
by
recasting
or
release
30
to
50
feet
of
line
per
rod.
-
Multiple
bait
rigs
(mentioned
above)
allow
you
to
fish
more
than
one
bait.
Example:
Fish
a
live
bait
on
the
bottom
hook
and
a
fillet
on
the
top
hook.
Bait
multiple
rods
with
different
baits
and
the
fish
will
"tell
you"
what
their
preference
is.
-
Flathead
Catfish
are
generaly
close
to
the
bottom,
so
set
live
baits
no
more
than1
to
2
feet
off
the
bottom...normally
near
standing
timber
log
jams
or
submerged
rocks
or
wood.
-
Blues
and
Channels
will
feed
actively
on
the
bottom,
suspended
off
the
bottom
at
different
levels;
sometimes
they
feed
just
below
the
surface
of
the
water.
Set
your
"Stalker
Float"
at
different
depths
to
determine
the
area
the
catfish
are
feeding
at
that
time.
The
"Catfish
Stalker"
Float
comes
in
5
different
sizes
so
you
can
choose
the
right
float
for
the
job.
For
top
performance
always
balance
your
float
by
using
the
weight
it's
rated
for.
Note:
The
floats
are
rated
to
include
the
total
weight
of
the
sinker
plus
the
bait.
