Crappie
Stalker
FLOAT
FISHING
TIPS
The
"Crappie
Stalker"
Float,
when
used
properly,
can
be
your
best
ally
for
catching
the
much
sought
after
Crappie,
often
referred
to
as
the
"Calico
Bass".
There
are
several
factors
to
know
in
order
to
be
the
most
efficient
when
fishing
with
your
"Crappie
Stalker"
float.
First,
fishing
the
right
type
of
water
where
crappie
are
feeding.
Second,
fishing
the
proper
depth.
Third,
choosing
the
right
sized
float
for
the
job.
Combine
these
three
factors
and
you
will
be
on
your
way
to
bringing
home
a
"mess"
of
crappies.
Fishing
the
right
type
of
water
is
important
in
catching
crappie.
Crappie
travel
in
schools
and
like
to
hold
,
generally
preferring
water
3
to
6
feet
down,
although
you
will
sometimes
find
them
in
deeper
water
at
around
15
feet.
Early
Spring
crappie
will
come
into
the
shallow
areas
just
after
the
ice
is
out
and
the
water
begins
to
warm
up.
You
will
find
that
these
crappie
will
often
times
go
into
"feeding
frenzys"
after
a
long
Winter.
During
the
Summer
months,
you
will
find
crappie
in
open
areas
of
water,
small
inlets
in
lakes
and
streams
and
also
near
submerged
trees
and
under
docks.
Fishing
the
proper
depth
is
very
important.
The
best
opportunity
for
your
"offering"
to
trigger
a
strike
is
when
it
floats
at
or
just
above
the
crappie's
eye
level.
Your
floats
attitude
or
position
(as
it
is
sometimes
called)
should
be
vertical,
indicating
a
drag
free
presentation.
If
your
bait
is
dragging
or
touching
the
bottom
your
float
will
be
tipped
sideways.
For
instance:
in
15
feet
of
water,
start
off
fishing
with
your
bait
in
5
feet
of
water.
If
you
have
had
no
action
in
5
to
10
minutes,
change
the
depth
of
your
bait
a
foot
or
two
at
a
time
until
you
locate
where
the
crappie
are
biting.
The
"Crappie
Stalker"
Float
comes
in
3
different
sizes
so
you
can
choose
the
right
float
for
the
job.
A
crappie's
bite
is
"very
slight"
so
it
is
important
to
use
the
proper
sized
float
so
even
the
slightest
bite
can
be
seen!!!
Always
use
the
best
quality
bait
and
make
an
extra
effort
to
keep
your
bait
cool
and
fresh.
Re-bait
often;
crappie
like
fresh
bait
that
is
"alive
and
moving."
If
you
are
using
crappie
jigs
instead
of
live
bait,
always
keep
your
jig
moving
or
"twiching"
slightly.
Crappie
will
most
times,
just
mouth
an
"offering"
that
isn't
moving.
Crappie
are
a
highly
prized
sport
fish
and
fishing
areas
are
often
crowded
with
many
other
fishermen.
When
arriving
at
a
popular
area,
see
what
the
rest
of
the
anglers
are
doing.
How
deep
are
they
fishing?
Where
are
they
casting?
How
are
they
keeping
their
lines
apart?
Using
the
"Crappie
Stalker"
Float,
these
tips
will
help
you
present
your
offering
to
the
crappie
more
effectively
and...of
course
enjoy
a
much
better
day
of
fishing!!!
