Fishing
Tips
The
"Steelhead
Stalker"
Float,
when
used
properly,
can
be
your
best
ally
for
catching
more
steelhead.
There
are
several
factors
to
know
in
order
to
be
the
most
efficient
with
your
float.
First,
fishing
the
right
type
of
water
where
steelhead
live
is
your
primary
concern.
Second,
fishing
the
proper
depth.
Third,
maintaining
the
proper
float
attitude
or
position
is
"imperative".
Combine
these
three
factors
and
you
will
be
on
your
way
to
steelhead
success!!!
Fishing
the
right
type
of
water
is
important
in
finding
steelhead.
Steelhead
prefer
water
that
is
4
to
10
feet
deep
and
moving
at
approximately
walking
speed.
Often
you
will
find
fish
on
the
edges
of
current
where
fast
water
meets
slow
water,
or
where
obstructions
like
boulders
or
logs
deflect
the
strength
of
the
current.
Fishing
the
proper
depth
is
very
important.
The
best
opportunity
for
your
offering
to
be
seen
by
steelhead
is
when
your
bait
or
jig
floats
by
just
above
the
fish.
They
can
see
up
and
to
the
sides
easily,
so
you
will
want
to
keep
your
bait
or
jig
above
them.
Steelhead
generally
sit
near
the
bottom
of
the
river
near
structure.
With
this
in
mind
you
will
want
your
bait
or
jig
set
1
to
2
feet
off
the
bottom.
It
is
important
that
your
presentation
does
not
drag
on
the
bottom
as
this
affects
your
float
attitude
or
position.
Float
attitude
is
important
in
determining
an
effective
presentation.
Float
position
or
attitude
is
the
angle
of
your
float
in
respect
to
your
bait
or
jig.
If
your
bait
or
jig
is
dragging
on
the
bottom
your
float
will
often
be
tipped
downstream.
If
your
line
is
not
feeding
out
quickly
enough
or
there
is
drag
in
your
line,
your
float
may
be
tipped
towards
the
upstream
side.
For
the
most
effective
presentation,
you
want
your
float
to
be
presented
vertically
with
a
drag-free
float.
Using
the
"Steelhead
Stalker"
Float,
these
three
factors
will
help
you
to
present
your
bait
or
jig
to
steelhead
more
effectively
and...
of
course,
enjoy
a
much
better
day
of
fishing!!!
