Walleye Stalker Fishing Tips and Instructions

The "Walleye Stalker" Float, when used properly, can be your best ally for catching “Old Marble Eyes." There are three factors to know in order to be the most efficient with your float. First, fishing the right type of water where walleye live and feed is your primary concern. Second, fishing the proper depth. Third, maintaining the proper float attitude or position is “imperative”. Combine these three factors and you will be on your way to walleye success!!!

Fishing the right type of water is important in catching walleye. Walleye prefer shallow rocky reefs and bars, deeper points and humps, and you will also find them hiding along the edges of weed beds. When fishing walleye with a float, you will want to "zero in" on areas where the fish are concentrated. When walleye are concentrated, floats will produce some excellent fishing.

Fishing the proper depth is very important. The best opportunity for your offering to be seen by walleye is when your bait or jig floats just above or directly in front of the fish. With this in mind you will want your bait or jig set to the proper depth where the walleye are feeding at the time. You can do this by using a bobber stop to easily adjust the depth of your bait or jig. It is important that your presentation does not drag on the bottom as this affects your float attitude or position.

Float position or attitude is the amount of your float that is showing above the water when you are fishing. Use the proper size float to make sure that the weight of your bait or jig allows only the top 3/4" to 1" of your float to be seen above the water line. This will assure that the walleye feels the "least resistance" when he is taking your bait and it will keep him holding on longer, giving you more time to set the hook.

Using the "Walleye Stalker" Float, these three factors will help you to present your bait or jig to walleye more effectively and... of course, enjoy a much better day of fishing!!!
