Premier Plastics History

Premier Plastics was created in 1982 when three creative men resurrected a discarded injection-molding machine. Jim Elliott, Mike Hahn and Larry Freeburg, being tool and die makers, rejuvenated the neglected machine. From the humble beginnings in the back room of Herman Engraving, a machine shop, Premier Plastics was born. The first cooling system was a 15-gallon barrel of water.

As time passed, the quality and craftsmanship of the tools built at Herman Engraving and parts molded at Premier Plastics created more markets requiring additional equipment. A total of five injection-molding machines were shoe horned in the backroom of the machine shop. Garages throughout central Omaha were used as warehouses.

The reputation continued to grow as well as the business. Growth required a move into a larger building in 1991. The molding equipment was moved into the leased building. The growth of the business meant additional equipment, a larger electrical service and a centralized cooling system. It also necessitated another move in 1999 to our current location.

Now we are located in central Omaha in a 66,000 square foot building. We have a large molding area encompassing 12,000 square feet, which is furnished with state of the art lighting and tile flooring to help insure quality products. Our machine and mold cooling requirements are met with a roof top water tower and central chiller.

Our shipping and receiving area allows room for proper staging of every order to insure accuracy. We are capable of JIT shipping along with handling your distribution needs.
